ABOUT US

Dialogue is a London based international theatre company. It was established in 1996 by German director Patricia Benecke and British actor Patrick Driver, who find and produce all company productions. The initial aim was to enhance the cultural dialogue between Great Britain and Germany. Subsequent projects have extended their remit to wider international work and the company has so far presented six British premieres and introduced several writers to a UK audience.

Dialogue is a registered charity and free drama workshops are offered alongside all productions. Company patrons are Max Stafford-Clark, Christoph Marthaler and Nadim Sawalha.

1996 - 2003: Bodo Kirchhoff's The MC of a Striptease Act Doesn't Give Up, staged in London, Germany, Holland, Italy, Ireland ,USA and at the Edinburgh Festival

1998: Urs Widmer's Top Dogs, presented as a site specific performance at The Truman Brewery in Brick Lane

2000: Thomas Brussig's Heroes like Us, in association with NXT, at The Edinburgh Festival

2001: Tankred Dorst's Merlin, the English premiere of this modern German classic, at the Riverside Studios Mainhouse

2003: Top Dogs revival at Southwark Playhouse

2005: Top Dogs national tour

2006: Monsieur Ibrahim and the Flowers of the Qur'an by Eric-Emmanuel Schmitt at the Bush Theatre, Assembly Rooms (Edinburgh Festival) and on national tour.

2008: Helter Skelter / Land of the Dead by Neil LaBute at the Bush Theatre.

2008: Wedding Day at the Cro-Magnons by Wajdi Mouawad at Soho Theatre.

2010: UK Tour of The Furies/Land of the Dead/Helter Skelter by Neil LaBute
